The summer and early fall has been a busy time for many of ACER’s scientists and staff. With the second year coming to an end, we take a look back over the past few months to share all that we have accomplished.
ACER graduate student Emily Seubert presents at the 2016 AES Meeting
At the recent American Elasmobranch Society (AES) Meeting in June, Emily Seubert, a graduate student in the ACER Consumer subgroup, presented her research titled “Species and functional diversity of apex and mesopredators in the northern Gulf of Mexico.”
In case you missed it
Spring has sprung! The Gulf Coast is warming up, the azaleas are blooming and ACER scientists have been gearing up to start this year’s field work. Before we head back out to the field, ACER scientists were able to relax a bit and share their work with the general public.

ACER at GoMOSES Conference
Last week ACER scientists and staff convened in Tampa to be a part of the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Sciences (GoMOSES) conference.
Working with the experts
The goals of ACER’s Education Team include communicating the importance of the northern Gulf of Mexico and the excitement of learning through research to K-12 students.

2016 All Hands Meeting
With the first year of work almost complete, ACER’s scientists, students, educators and outreach personnel hosted their first “All-Hands” meeting on January 7, 2016.
